The Assam Cabinet, on October 4, approved 12% reservation for Assam-domiciled ex-Agniveers in recruitment to 11 categories of government services. The measure aims to support former Agniveers in securing employment after completing their military service.
The reservation will cover services including Assam Police, Assam Police Radio Organisation (APRO), State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), Fire and Emergency Services, Forest Guards and Excise. The decision provides a state-level employment opportunity mechanism for former Agniveers.
