Vietnam has announced a new system in which a traffic violation reporter would get paid by the government. While this might seem like a step enabling snitching, it could be the possible solution for minor traffic demeanors.

As per the news the traffic police would pay a percentage of the fine levied on the defaulters, to civilians who hand over video graphic proof of the defaulter road users. The scheme has been launched recently and has been aimed to make the streets safer for better overall traffic conditions.

Vietnamese Officials have also stated that if in case any additional money is raised by this system, the government would use if for improving the road conditions. The government officials shared ideas of how the additional cash would be sued for the development of information systems and the maintenance of databases for easy tracking and future recognition of defaulters.

As per the news releases its possible for onlookers to earn above 200$’s for reporting said crimes. The reward as of yet has been capped at 10% of the total levied fine per case.
