Indian Polity & Governance
The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), established on 1 October 1926 under the recommendations of the Lee Commission and the Government of India Act, 1919, serves as India’s apex constitutional authority for recruiting senior civil servants through a transparent and competitive process.
Marking its 100th year, the UPSC is set to unveil a special logo and tagline reflecting its century-long service to the nation. The centenary year will also introduce new initiatives and reforms aimed at modernising recruitment, enhancing transparency, and strengthening the institution’s role in upholding merit-based public service.
