Tripura has become the first state in India to empanel private B.Ed. and D.El.Ed. institutions under the Post-Matric Scholarship (PMS) for Scheduled Tribe (ST) Students scheme. The initiative aims to improve tribal students’ access to teacher education while ensuring greater transparency and accountability.
The empanelment framework is expected to streamline scholarship delivery, strengthen institutional oversight, and promote quality teacher education for Scheduled Tribe students.
