The proposed “Triangular Security Grid” aims to strengthen security around the strategically vital Siliguri Corridor (Chicken’s Neck), which connects mainland India with the Northeast. The proposed grid will comprise military garrisons at Dhubri in Assam, Kishanganj in Bihar and Chopra in West Bengal.
The initiative is part of the Centre’s broader efforts to strengthen border infrastructure, surveillance and strategic security in the region.
