The Assam Government has announced a six-month moratorium on farm loans, crop loans, and loans availed by Self-Help Groups (SHGs) in the four flood-affected districts. During the moratorium period, eligible borrowers will not be required to pay their regular loan instalments, and the repayment schedule may be extended.
The measure aims to provide immediate financial relief to flood-affected families, farmers, and SHGs whose homes, livelihoods, agricultural activities, and businesses have suffered extensive damage.
