Malappuram district is set to become part of the Tata Group’s massive Rs 91,000 crore semiconductor project. A subsidiary plant of the project, which is also being implemented in Assam, is being considered in Ozhur, a village near Tanur.

The Tata Group is collaborating with Taiwan-based Powerchip Semiconductor Manufacturing Corporation for this large-scale venture. The main plant will be located in Gujarat, with the subsidiary plant being proposed in Malappuram. According to Tata Group’s estimates, these plants will create employment opportunities for around 100,000 people, leveraging artificial intelligence-based technologies.
