Sangken is a major Buddhist festival of Arunachal Pradesh, celebrated with devotion and vibrant rituals. Images of Lord Buddha are taken out from shrines, ritually bathed and placed in Kyongfra, accompanied by drums and cymbals.
Devotees gather in monasteries to offer prayers, sweets and food. The sprinkling of water among people symbolises purification, renewal and the washing away of negativity, reflecting spiritual harmony and community bonding.
