Around 250 members of the Bnei Menashe community from Northeast India have arrived in Israel under a government initiative to facilitate their migration. This marks the first batch since the announcement to relocate thousands over the next five years.

The Bnei Menashe, residing in Manipur and Mizoram, claim descent from the biblical tribe of Manasseh. Under “Operation Wings of Dawn,” Israel plans to bring about 1,200 more individuals in 2026, highlighting cultural identity and transnational migration.
