Internal Security / Police Administration

Sikkim Police have been conferred the President of India’s Colour, one of the highest and rarest honours for police forces, making Sikkim the 15th state to receive this distinction. The award is granted sparingly and often after long intervals, underscoring its prestige.

For the Sikkim Police, with a strength of around 6,500 personnel, the recognition marks a historic milestone. In the Northeast, Assam Police received the President’s Colour in 2022, becoming the second force from the region after Tripura.
