Assam State Election Commission (SEC) has updated the electoral roll for Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs) via the Online Electoral Roll Management System (OERMS). Developed by NIC, Assam, the system was first implemented to publish the Assam Panchayat Electoral Roll on September 29, 2023.
To expedite the voter list for the upcoming panchayat elections, the SEC implemented a two-phase process. The first phase updated the 2023 Assam Panchayat Roll using the Assembly Rolls published on February 8 2024. The second phase will align the electoral roll with the newly redefined boundaries of Gaon Panchayats, Anchalik Panchayats, and Zilla Parishads.
