• The Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC) has designated the Natural History Museum, Mizoram University, Aizawl, as an official repository under Section 39 of the Biological Diversity Act, 2002.
  • As a notified repository, the museum is authorised to collect, preserve, maintain, and document biological specimens, strengthening biodiversity research, conservation, and scientific reference collections.
  • The recognition enhances the museum’s role in supporting taxonomic studies, ecological research, and biodiversity conservation in Northeast India.
