The Union government launched the Mission Coffees of Nagaland on 18 May 2026 at Sanchar Bhawan to promote coffee cultivation and strengthen livelihood opportunities for farmers in Nagaland.

The initiative highlights the growing potential of coffee production in the Northeast and aims to support sustainable agriculture, value addition and market expansion. Officials stated that the mission would help generate dignified livelihoods for coffee growers while enhancing the presence of Nagaland coffee in domestic and international markets.
