Local Planning Authority (LPA): Assam has proposed to bring Nabin Nagar in Guwahati under the Local Planning Authority (LPA) to facilitate planned urban development, subject to residents’ consent. The initiative aims to address chronic flooding through modern drainage systems, improved road connectivity, and upgraded civic infrastructure.
The proposed planning model is based on successful urban development practices adopted in Odisha and Gujarat, with the objective of ensuring sustainable urban expansion, reducing flood risks, and improving public amenities.
