Khagi, a traditional Himalayan spice harvested by indigenous communities in West Kameng district of Arunachal Pradesh, is emerging as a successful model of community-based livelihood and forest conservation. The spice belongs to the Zanthoxylum genus and is commonly associated with Sichuan pepper or Timur.
