Dhruva Jyoti Dutta has been awarded the Shaurya Chakra, India’s third-highest peacetime gallantry award, by President Droupadi Murmu for his exceptional bravery during an operation in Manipur.

During an ambush, despite sustaining a bullet injury, Dutta displayed remarkable courage and determination, continuing the operation and successfully rescuing eight fellow soldiers, thereby preventing further casualties. His actions exemplify outstanding leadership, selflessness and devotion to duty in the face of grave danger.
