Daying Ering Memorial Wildlife Sanctuary recorded its first-ever camera trap photograph of a tiger, confirming the species’ return after nearly two decades. The finding highlights the ecological importance of the protected area and ongoing wildlife conservation efforts.
The sanctuary also recorded sightings of the critically endangered Chinese pangolin and the endangered hispid hare, a rare grassland species. Daying Ering is the only protected area in Arunachal Pradesh where riparian grasslands form the primary habitat, making it significant for biodiversity conservation and wetland ecology.
