Assam Minister for Revenue and Disaster Management Jogen Mohan on Thursday announced compensation for the victims affected by the recent storms that ravaged the state destroying dwelling houses and killing people as well as livestock.
Minister Jogen Mohan also informed that all the district commissioners have been directed to pay the storm victims the amount of compensation without any delay.
storm victims whose residential houses were completely destroyed will receive a compensation of Rs.1.20 lakhs, while an amount of Rs 4,000 will be given in case of partial damage.
Also, the family members of victims who died in the devastating storms will receive a compensation of Rs. 4 lakhs while those injured will receive Rs. 2 lakhs.
Mohan further informed that a total of 42 teams from the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and Assam State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) have been told to be prepared to tackle any untoward incident during the storm events predicted over the next few days
