- Exercise Khanjar-XII is a joint military exercise between India and Kyrgyzstan.
- The exercise provides an opportunity to strengthen defence ties between India and Kyrgyzstan.
- It reflects the commitment of both countries to promote peace, stability and security in the region.
Participation:
- The Indian contingent is being represented by soldiers of the Para Regiment (Special Forces).
- The Kyrgyz contingent is being represented by the Kyrgyz Scorpion Brigade.
Objective of the exercise:
- To strengthen defence cooperation between the armies of the two countries.
- To work together to combat common challenges such as terrorism and extremism.
- To promote mutual understanding and cooperation between the armies of the two countries.
History:
- The exercise started in 2011.
- The last edition of the exercise was held in India in January 2024.
