White goods are large, durable household appliances used for routine domestic activities such as cooking, cleaning and climate control. They include kitchen appliances like refrigerators, ovens, microwaves and dishwashers, as well as laundry appliances such as washing machines and dryers.
Under the fourth round of the Production-Linked Incentive Scheme for White Goods, the Government of India has selected five companies with a committed investment of ₹863 crore. The initiative seeks to boost domestic manufacturing, enhance value addition and reduce import dependence.
