Meghalaya launched the Skillerate 2026 programme to strengthen youth skill development and employment opportunities in the state. The initiative aims to train nearly 21,000 youths amid rising workforce participation.

With almost half of Meghalaya’s population below 20 years of age and around 60,000 young people entering the workforce annually, the programme focuses on improving employability, vocational training and industry-relevant skills. The initiative reflects the state’s emphasis on human resource development and youth empowerment through structured skill-building programmes.
