Shillong hosted the 14th BIMSTEC SG-AML/CFT Meeting on 20 July 2026, attended by all seven member states. The meeting adopted an Action Plan on Illicit Financial Flows, an MoU on capacity building, and agreed to prepare the AML/CFT Work Plan (2026–2028).
The members also decided to operationalise the BIMSTEC AML/CFT Contact Point Network to strengthen coordination among Financial Intelligence Units.
