The Assam Government has set a target to bring 400 dairy cooperative societies under the Scheme for Assistance to Cooperative Societies for Integrated Dairy Development (SASCI) by September. The initiative aims to strengthen the state’s dairy infrastructure and enhance the livelihoods of dairy farmers through cooperative-led development.

The scheme seeks to improve milk collection, processing, and marketing by strengthening dairy cooperatives and providing better market linkages. It is expected to boost organised dairy production, increase farmers’ incomes, and support the long-term growth of Assam’s dairy sector.
