Assam Cabinet approved the construction of 97 rural roads and 70 minor irrigation projects to boost rural development through improved connectivity and irrigation.
These projects are expected to improve connectivity in 23 districts and support farmers in 28 districts of Assam.
The initiatives will be carried out at a cost of ₹428.62 crore under the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development’s (NABARD) Rural Infrastructure Development Fund (RIDF-XXX) scheme.
The 30th tranche, RIDF-XXX, focuses on projects with high impact on rural resilience and adaptation, including infrastructure for agriculture, healthcare, and connectivity. Emphasis is placed on climate-resilient infrastructure and projects that enhance rural livelihoods, ensuring both economic growth and environmental sustainability.
