Tripura will organise a three-day Pineapple Mahotsav in New Delhi from June 27 to promote its GI-tagged Queen Pineapple in domestic and international markets. The fruit is also recognised as the state fruit of Tripura.
The government plans to invest ₹236 crore for development of the Queen Pineapple sector and marketing infrastructure with support from MDoNER, the Union Agriculture Ministry and the state government. Tripura’s Queen Pineapple has already been exported to countries such as Dubai, Germany, Oman and Russia.
