“Purvi,” a young girl symbolising the unity and cultural identity of the eight North-Eastern states, was introduced as the mascot of the first-ever Ashtalakshmi Mahotsav. The festival will be held at Bharat Mandapam to showcase the arts, crafts, traditions and economic potential of Northeast India.
The Mahotsav aims to strengthen national recognition of the region’s cultural heritage while promoting tourism, entrepreneurship and regional integration through exhibitions, performances and cultural activities.
