The Prime Minister of India received the prestigious “Speaker of the Knesset Medal” during an address to Israel’s Parliament, becoming the first Indian leader to be conferred this honour. The award, the highest distinction of the Knesset, recognises efforts in deepening strategic, diplomatic and technological cooperation between India and Israel. The Knesset, Israel’s unicameral legislature located in Jerusalem, comprises 120 members, reflecting the historical tradition of the ancient Great Assembly. The recognition highlights the growing strategic partnership and expanding cooperation in defence, innovation and foreign policy engagement between the two nations.
