The Ministry of Panchayati Raj released the PAI 2.0 Report (2023–24) on National Panchayati Raj Day to assess grassroots governance and development performance of Gram Panchayats.
Tripura emerged as the top performer, with around 80% Panchayats in the Front Runner category. In contrast, states like Manipur and Meghalaya show a high share of Beginner-grade Panchayats, reflecting infrastructure gaps. Arunachal Pradesh and Nagaland face reporting challenges, while West Bengal did not participate.
