Operation Demolishment is a counter-insurgency initiative aimed at dismantling memorials and structures allegedly erected by Naxal groups to glorify their leaders and promote extremist ideology. The operation targets symbolic sites used for propaganda, recruitment mobilisation, and commemorative gatherings linked to Left Wing Extremism (LWE).

The initiative is carried out by Indian security forces in coordination with state police and counter-insurgency agencies, primarily in Naxal-affected regions such as Chhattisgarh and Maharashtra. By removing ideological symbols alongside security operations, the strategy seeks to weaken extremist influence at both physical and psychological levels.
