Mopin Festival is a major spring harvest festival of the Galo community in Arunachal Pradesh, celebrated annually from April 5 to 7. It is dedicated to Mopin Ane, the goddess believed to bless the people with prosperity, fertility and protection from evil.
The festival features traditional Popir dance, community feasts and the ritual smearing of white rice flour, symbolising purity and good fortune. Celebrated during the Galo months of Lumi and Luki (March–April), it also marks the new year. The Galo tribe follows the Donyi-Polo belief system.
