In a strategic move to expand its renewable energy portfolio, the Madhya Pradesh government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the National Hydroelectric Power Corporation (NHPC).

Under the agreement, Madhya Pradesh will procure 252 MW of electricity from NHPC’s multipurpose hydropower project located in the Lower Dibang Valley, Arunachal Pradesh.

The Dibang hydropower project, developed on the Dibang River, is one of India’s largest and is expected to be commissioned by 2031–32.

This inter-state energy collaboration highlights the growing emphasis on clean energy, inter-regional cooperation, and optimised resource utilisation.
