Education and Inclusion

In a progressive step towards inclusive education, Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu distributed KIBO devices to students of the Donyi Polo Mission School for the Hearing and Visually Impaired. KIBO is an AI-powered reading device developed by Trestle Labs that empowers visually and hearing-impaired individuals to independently access printed, handwritten, and digital content in multiple languages, including regional ones.

This assistive technology marks a leap in digital inclusion by enabling students with sensory disabilities to learn at their own pace without external dependence. It aligns with the broader goal of equitable education, fostering autonomy, dignity, and accessibility for marginalised learners, and strengthens India’s commitment to inclusive development under the NEP 2020 vision.
