The Assam Cabinet has approved the allocation of more than 500 bighas of land for IIM Guwahati and 200 bighas for Azim Premji University at Palashbari. The move is aimed at strengthening Assam’s higher-education infrastructure and attracting reputed institutions to the State.

Azim Premji University, established in 2010 and headquartered in Bengaluru, is a private university founded by philanthropist Azim Premji. The proposed Assam campus will be its fourth campus, expanding the university’s presence beyond its existing locations.
