International Relations / Global Governance
Global Future Councils are the World Economic Forum’s flagship multistakeholder knowledge platform, functioning as invitation-only, time-bound think tanks focused on anticipating future global challenges and opportunities. They were established in 2013 as part of WEF’s future-oriented knowledge architecture.
Hosted strategically by the United Arab Emirates for 2026–2030, the councils bring together experts to identify emerging trends, risks and technologies, and convert specialised knowledge into actionable, policy-relevant insights for global decision-makers.
