Bharat Taxi has been launched as India’s first cooperative-run ride-hailing platform, with initial operations planned in Delhi–NCR and Gujarat, followed by pan-India expansion over the next three years.
The platform has been established by eight leading cooperative organisations, including Amul, marking a shift from aggregator-led models to cooperative ownership.
Bharat Taxi aims to significantly enhance drivers’ incomes by reducing intermediary commissions and providing drivers with ownership stakes, aligning mobility services with the cooperative movement.
