The Assam Cabinet has approved the procurement mechanism for masoor dal and sugar for the period October 2026 to March 2027. Procurement will be carried out through the National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation of India Ltd., which will float tenders and determine rates based on prevailing open market prices.
The decision aims to ensure the timely and transparent procurement of essential food commodities, maintain stable supplies, and support the efficient implementation of the state’s public distribution and welfare programmes.
