Science & Technology

Researchers at the Central University of Rajasthan have successfully grown wheat on desert land in Ajmer. This was achieved using an innovative method called ‘soilification’ technology.

The technology works by applying polymers that bind loose sand particles together, turning them into a soil-like structure.

In addition, bioformulations are used to enhance microbial activity, which improves soil fertility and nutrient cycling.

The process also increases water retention, lowering irrigation requirements. This makes farming more sustainable in arid and desert regions.
