India has launched the Skilling for AI Readiness (SOAR) Programme under the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) to equip students and educators for an AI-driven future. The initiative supports India’s vision of becoming a global centre for AI innovation and digital talent.
The programme seeks to develop AI-powered learning tools and teaching aids, promote multilingual AI resources in Indian languages for wider inclusivity, and drive curriculum innovation across IITs and AICTE-approved institutions. It also aims to strengthen industry–academia collaboration to translate AI research into practical skill-building and employment opportunities.
