Slovenia has introduced fuel rationing, becoming the first European Union country to take such a step amid disruptions linked to the West Asia conflict and rising global energy prices. The measure aims to manage supply and prevent shortages.
Under the policy, private vehicles are restricted to 50 litres per day, while businesses and farmers can access up to 200 litres. The decision was also influenced by increased cross-border fuel demand, as drivers from neighbouring countries sought cheaper fuel in Slovenia.
