The Foundation to Educate Girls Globally, known as Educate Girls, became the first Indian organisation to receive the 2025 Ramon Magsaysay Award. The non-profit works to bring out-of-school girls from remote villages into mainstream education, strengthening gender equality and social development. The award also honoured Shaahina Ali from the Maldives for environmental work and Flaviano Antonio L. Villanueva from the Philippines for social service.
