The initiative ensured 24×7 treated water meeting BIS standards, aligned with AMRUT’s focus on urban water and sanitation infrastructure, and reduced reliance on packaged water while improving public health outcomes.
Lesson for Assam
Puri demonstrates that continuous supply, quality certification and public trust are key to safe urban water delivery. A similar mission-driven approach in Assam’s cities could improve water quality and reduce waterborne diseases.
