The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), India’s apex anti-drug enforcement agency, has successfully dismantled a transnational drug trafficking network through Operation MED MAX. Conducted in collaboration with international enforcement agencies, the operation spanned over 10 countries across Asia, Europe, North America, and Oceania.

Based on Article 47 of the Indian Constitution – a Directive Principle of State Policy.
Article 47 mandates that the State shall endeavour to prohibit the consumption of intoxicating substances, except for medicinal purposes.
