Madhya Pradesh Special Armed Force (MPSAF) is deploying around 40 companies, comprising nearly 4,000 personnel, to assist in conducting free and fair elections in Assam and West Bengal. This marks one of the largest deployments in recent years, after 50 companies were sent during the 2022 Uttar Pradesh elections.
MPSAF is the armed wing of the Madhya Pradesh Police, tasked with maintaining law and order, countering Naxal activities and tackling dacoity. It operates under the MP Vishesh Sashastra Bal Adhiniyam, 1968 and often works alongside central forces during major operations.
