Assam government is set to start work on the Mohiyoshi Joymoti Memorial Complex (MJMC) at Sivasagar to pay homage to the Ahom princess Joymoti Konwari.
This complex will span 15 bighas of land near Joymoti High School and is funded by the Directorate of Welfare of Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes, Assam. The first phase of the project has already received funding of ₹6.85 crore from the Tai Ahom Development Council.
There are also plans for a war memorial at the site of the Battle of Alaboi, where 10,000 Assamese soldiers fought the Mughal army in 1669.
