Assam Cabinet approved the conversion of loans and grants provided to three state power utility companies into equity
The companies are namely, Assam Power Distribution Company Limited (APDCL), Assam Electricity Grid Corporation Limited (AEGCL), and Assam Power Generation Corporation Limited (APGCL).
The decision aligns with the Indian Government Accounting Standard (IGAS) – 4, which permits such financial restructuring measures to strengthen the performance and sustainability of public utilities.
