The Arunachal Pradesh government has announced the establishment of five dedicated schools for Children With Special Needs (CWSN) in the districts of Kameng, Lohit, Siang, Subansiri, and Tirap. This move marks a major push towards inclusive education in the state.

According to UDISE+ 2023–24 data, 2,989 children in Arunachal Pradesh were identified as having special needs. The new institutions aim to bridge long-standing gaps in accessibility and quality of education for these students. By providing specialized support and infrastructure, the initiative seeks to create a more inclusive and equitable educational environment across the state.
