Types of Niche

  1. Fundamental Niche:

The full range of environmental conditions and resources an organism can theoretically use.

Ideal condition in absence of competition.

  1. Realized Niche:

The actual set of conditions used by the organism in nature due to competition and constraints.

  1. Habitat Niche:

Where a species lives (e.g., canopy, understory).
