Sachin Tendulkar’s Portrait Unveiled at Lord’s MCC Museum

A portrait of cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar was unveiled at the iconic MCC Museum at Lord’s Cricket Ground, marking a significant honour for the Indian sportsman. Painted by British artist Stuart Pearson Wright from a photograph taken nearly two decades ago, the portrait will initially be displayed at the museum before being relocated to the historic Pavilion.

This inclusion is part of the Lord’s Portrait Programme, an initiative active for over 30 years, with MCC’s art collection itself dating back to the Victorian era. Tendulkar’s portrait now joins a prestigious lineage of sporting figures in the Long Room Gallery, the oldest and most celebrated gallery in the sporting world. The event symbolizes Tendulkar’s enduring global stature and cricket’s deep cultural ties between India and England.
