Govt Launches App to Boost Battlefield Tourism
As part of a significant initiative to connect civilians with India’s rich military history, the government launched the “Bharat Ranbhoomi Darshan” app and website on January 15, 2025, during Army Day celebrations in Pune, Maharashtra. Jointly developed by the Ministries of Defence, Tourism, and the Indian Army, the platform enables civilians to explore key battlefield locations, including sites from the 1962, 1971, and 1999 wars, as well as prominent conflict zones such as the Siachen base camp and Galwan Valley. This initiative aims to transform border areas into tourist destinations, fostering a deeper connection between citizens and the sacrifices of India’s armed forces.
