The Assam Cabinet has intensified flood relief operations by assigning ministers of all line departments to assess damage in affected areas and oversee remedial measures. The government will also distribute family ration kits to flood-affected households to help meet their essential daily needs.
The government stated that all flood-affected villages and localities have been reached and appealed to the public to contribute new clothes, baby food, children’s clothing, sador mekhela, T-shirts, shirts, disinfectants such as phenyl, and educational kits to support rehabilitation efforts.
